Local Rules

    PREFERRED LIES

    All social players are granted preferred lies on all fairways

    Members : A player may take a one card length preferred lie on the mown fairway in play only. Preferred lies are not permitted in rough areas through the green, bunkers or staked hazards. If not on the mown fairway in play, the ball will be played as it lies. If relief is required from these areas, relief may be granted under Rule 28 (Ball Unplayable) and a one stroke penalty is incurred.

    ROPES and SUPPORTS

    A ball MUST be dropped one club length away from all ropes and rope supports. No penalty will be incurred (Rule 24-2, Immovable Obstructions). Ropes or supports are not to be removed.

    OUT OF BOUNDS

    • All ground outside the club's boundary fences
    • Those areas beyond the line of black tipped white stakes.
    • The 15th fairway when playing the 14th hole.
    • The practice area adjacent to the 17th and 18th fairways.
    • The 17th fairway when playing the 18th hole.
    • The clubhouse and surrounding gardens and paths.
    • The pro shop precincts.
    • The tennis courts, carpark and carpark extensions.

    GUR (Ground Under Repair)

    All new work and any area marked with white stakes or white ground markings.
    The bunker on the 2nd hole.
    The bunker on the 11th hole.
    All well defined motor vehicle, cart or course machinery wheel tracks.

    IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS

    All course indicator signs and distance markers.
    Stakes and staked trees or trees less than 2 club lengths in height.

    PATHWAYS

    One club length relief must be taken without penalty from all pathways unless the pathway is deemed as part of a hazard. Relief must be taken at the nearest point of relief, no closer to the hole.

    DRAINS

    The drain along the right hand side of the 5th fairway is part of the course and no free drop is to be taken. If relief is required from this drain, it may be granted under Rule 28 (Ball Unplayable) and a one stroke penalty is incurred.

    POWER LINES

    A ball striking any overhead power lines or their supports must be replayed without penalty.

    PASPALAM STALKS

    Paspalam stalks on mown fairways, green surrounds or teeing grounds may be plucked before playing a shot.

    PRACTICE GREEN

    Until the practice green is functional again, the 18th green may be used for practice putting before competition as long as it does not interfere with others' play.
